The 40th La Défense Jazz Festival will revolutionize Jazz history!
New genres and styles of Jazz will be booming into the ears of thousands at the Esplanade of La Défense. A century of classic Jazz music will be presented here with fresh and new innovative twists from young and current artists.

Jazz music is not the aftermath of playing notes and following rules; Jazz music is spontaneous, creative and innovative. It is the result of an ardent passion and love for music and harmony. Beginning June 19th to June 25th, 2017 Jazz culture, heritage and history will be celebrated in the soaring towers of La Défense in Paris. The live music festival begins each day at noon and will feature a variety of well-known artists such as: Jowee Omicil, Abou Diarra, Fautheir Toux Trio, Mammal Hands and more.
Predominantly a Jazz celebration, the festival will also have a mix of other genres such as electro and hip-hop. Starting at 18:00, music fans will begin by listening to Electro Deluxe and for the closing weekend there will be hip-hop musicians as well. What makes this event most remarkable is that in addition to being a festival of classical jazz music the 40th La Défense National Jazz Competition has been fashioned to promote amateur artists, young jazz talents and the career development of new groups in the rising! Although diverse and distinct groups will appear, they all have in common a foundation for the Jazz classics and traditions.

In addition, every Jazz fanatic will be swarming towards this brilliant and diverse event as guests are urged to take a journey towards enlightenment and musical exhilaration.
While dancing and swaying to the soul enriching melodies and listening to the hypnotic drumming of the bass line, one will encounter a different kind of experience in Paris. This concert will be electrifying and historic. What began almost 40 years ago is now a popular and trendy experience happening in the heart of the financial center in Paris. An occasion that is worthy to put on the calendar right away!
